Our story

NOT YOUR
AVERAGE
SHOP

Haze started because we were tired of tattoo shops that treat custom work like a transaction. We're a tight crew of artists who actually give a damn about what goes on your body.

Every client gets a real conversation. We dig into the idea, the meaning, the placement — and we'll push back when we think something could be better. That's not attitude. That's craft.

We work slow, we work intentional, and we never double-book. When you're in the chair, you have our full attention — nothing else.

I've been to five different shops. Haze is the only one that actually listened to what I wanted instead of nudging me toward what was easier for them. Nailed it first pass.

The geometric chest piece gets comments every time I take my shirt off. People ask if it's real. That says everything. Worth every penny and then some.

Ryan's portrait of my dog made me actually cry. I walked in terrified for my first tattoo — walked out feeling like I'd just made something permanent with people I trust.

FAQ

QUESTIONS
PEOPLE
ACTUALLY ASK

Does it hurt?+
Honestly? Yeah — some spots more than others. Ribs, inner arm, and neck are rough. Outer arm, thigh, and shoulder are usually fine. If you're worried about pain, we recommend Zensa numbing cream — available over the counter at most pharmacies for around $50. See the FAQ below for exactly how to use it.
How should I prepare?+
Sleep well. Eat a real meal beforehand. Skip the alcohol the night before. Wear clothes that give easy access to the area being tattooed. If you're using numbing cream, start the process about 2 hours before your appointment — see the numbing cream FAQ below for the full method. We'll send you a prep guide when you book.
Can I use numbing cream?+
Yes — we recommend Zensa Numbing Cream, available over the counter at most pharmacies for around $50. Here's the exact method to follow starting 2 hours before your appointment:

Step 1 — Shave the area. Shave a generous area around the spot being tattooed. Use shaving cream. Clean skin absorbs the cream better.

Step 2 — Apply the first layer. Spread a generous layer of Zensa over the entire area. Wrap it tightly with plastic wrap and let it sit for one hour.

Step 3 — Apply the second layer. After the hour is up, rub the existing cream into the skin, then apply a fresh second layer on top. Wrap it up again — nice and snug.

Step 4 — Head to your appointment. Do not remove the wrap at any point after the second application. Keep it covered until your artist removes it at the start of your session. That's it.
What's the aftercare process?+
Taking proper care of your new tattoo is crucial for how it heals — and how it looks for the rest of your life. Your artist will go over everything specific to your piece after the session, but here are the core guidelines to follow:

Keep it clean. Gently wash the tattooed area with a mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water 2–3 times a day. Pat dry with a clean towel — never rub.

Moisturize. Apply a thin layer of a fragrance-free moisturizer or recommended tattoo aftercare ointment to keep the skin hydrated. Less is more — a thin layer is all it needs.

No submersion. Avoid swimming, baths, hot tubs, or soaking the tattoo in water until it's fully healed. Showers are fine — just don't let it soak.

Protect from sun. Keep the fresh tattoo out of direct sunlight during healing. Once fully healed, always apply sunscreen over the area to prevent fading over time.

Don't pick or scratch. Any scabbing or peeling is normal — let it come off on its own. Picking or scratching pulls out ink and causes scarring.

Your artist will provide detailed aftercare instructions tailored to your specific tattoo after your session. If anything comes up during healing, don't hesitate to reach out — we're always available.
What's your deposit policy?+
The deposit holds your date and goes toward the final cost. Non-refundable if you cancel within 48 hours — but fully transferable if you reschedule with notice. We're human about it.
Can I see the design before I commit?+
We share concepts during consultation. We don't send full-res artwork before the deposit — that protects our artists' work. You'll see the direction and we build from there together.
Do you take walk-ins?+
Walk ins welcome when available! It depends on whether any artist has time in their schedule that day. If no artists are available, an appointment can be booked. You're also welcome to call ahead to check if there's availability the same day — (236) 426-1399.
